San Juan, The Surfing Capital of the North

Baguio, is a city in the mountainous region of the Northern part of Luzon, so you cannot see the seas often

Today we are going to introduce to you about the beach which is 2 hours away from Baguio City. The name of the place is called “San Juan, La Union”.

San Juan, La Union is one of the premier surfing destinations in the Philippines.

The beach in San Juan has waves for all levels of surfers. From beginner to professional they will surely enjoy surfing the waves of San Juan Beach.

After riding the waves, you can sit back and chill out on the sand and watch one of the best sunsets in the Philippines.

You can buy the ticket at the bus station near SM Mall. It will take about two to two and half hours from Baguio to San Juan.

Temperature is about 10 degrees higher than Baguio, so we recommend you to bring extra clothes because the weather will definitely make you sweat a lot.

There is 7-Eleven store right in front of the bus stop so you can easily find where you have to take off the bus.

If you walk a few steps, you will be able to see the sea. Even though, you do not have your own surfboard, you can still surf because there are a bunch of rental shop for surf board around the beach.
The surfing equipment, the tutorial and personal guide is about 500 pesos per hour.

It is quite reasonable isn’t it?

There were a lot of people playing at the sea that time and the water is not too deep, so it is perfect for playing.

Be careful not to get sun burn!

There are also many restaurants, cafes and bars around the beach. We went to a restaurant near San Juan beach and the food quality was pretty good.

Have fun and eat delicious food in San Juan beach.
